Men's interest in women's breasts linked to breastfeeding
All of us have repeatedly observed a situation when men, as if hypnotized, look at the breasts of a woman. At the same time, even the most reasonable representative of the stronger sex during a conversation with a woman, the look now and then shifts slightly to the south. Two American researchers, Larry Young and Brain Alexander, tried to find an explanation for this phenomenon.
The authors argue that the real reason why heterosexual men are enchanted by female breasts is the hormone oxytocin. The newborn baby stimulates the mother's breast, which releases oxytocin. This leads to relaxation of the smooth muscles in the chest, and milk will be released. But oxytocin has another role. It draws the mother’s attention to the child. In this case, the face, smell and sound of the child’s voice are firmly imprinted in the mother’s brain, strengthening the connection between them.
When a man caresses a woman's breast, the researchers explain, it causes the same processes in the brain as breastfeeding. In other words, men’s love for breasts is an unconscious evolutionary urge that helps people form a strong bond.
