A new study published in the journal «JAMA», shows that sugar in products such as soft drinks, cereals and cakes not only helps us to gain a few extra kilos, but also significantly increases the risk of death from cardiovascular disease.

If you get more than 25% of daily calories from foods and beverages with added sugar, the risk of death from cardiovascular disease is increased threefold. Even moderate use of such products considerably harms: from 10% to 25% of daily calorie intake increases the risk by 30% - in other words, only one is enough cans of soda a day.
