De Hogeveyk - a quarter of the 23 homes in the town of oars in the Netherlands. This village has been specially designed for people with Alzheimer's disease or dementia.
The creators of this settlement and the city authorities decided that the elderly do not need to go to a nursing home.
Many elderly people who live here do not even know that they are in an institution. For them, everything looks very familiar - homes, shops, streets with flower beds and benches. Employees of the center, which they see every day, but do not remember their faces and names are recognized as ordinary residents of the settlement.
