Towards the Legend - the illegal trip to CHZO

Will be 40 photos and 2 videos

Some time ago, I returned from a four-day trip to the Chernobyl exclusion zone. It just so happened that I did not want to pay a lot of money for the opportunity to droop in a bus with a boring tour guide and tourists who ride the normal route and reach the home of Pripyat.

Chernobyl Exclusion Zone - free access to the forbidden territory, has undergone intense pollution by long-lived radionuclides due to the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.

Chernobyl area includes the north Ivankov district of the Kiev region, where there are just plant, the town of Chernobyl and Pripyat, the north of the Polesie district of Kiev region (including the village. Poliske and village. Vilcha), as well as part of Zhytomyr region up to the border with Belarus.

Border settlement is relatively convenient for illegal entry into CEZ is the village "Gubin" near Dityatok. Perimeter is a control strips width of about 15 meters with one row of barbed wire. So to get a stranger to the Zone is not difficult. (in fact the wire is not to keep people out there, and that nothing escaped from there!).

Into the forest, I quite cheerfully walked across the thick carpet of needles and moss. Later it becomes clear that the best strategy - to go on the rides, but had yet to break through. Compass with the little nauseated and trajectories are obtained is not the most direct. From time to time we met trees freaks. The average background is 30-40 mR / h. The closer we get to the center of the zone, the more there is here such mutilated trees. Not sure there is any direct link.

As with all the woods in the area waiting for us the number of wild mosquitoes and midges. In addition, we met a large number of wild animals and their tracks (paw print or heaps of manure, for instance). The lack of people allowed to brood baby animals well, so one of the main dangers of illegal tourist - meeting with wild animals.

Most of the forests - artificial, planted in neat rows, separated by cuttings. Prosek sometimes fresh, sometimes littered with debris and branches. Places stunningly beautiful.

The first settlement - Yampil. 25 years after the Chernobyl accident did their job - now this place is inhabited by other hosts. Houses, sidewalks, lampposts, entire streets - all in the power plant. Methodically and slowly transformed the nature of the nines achievements of civilization. According to some reports in the village has long settled samosely - the old man with the dogs. However, by clicking on the outskirts of the village, we did not encounter any signs of life, except for a few long-time parking "Stalker", and not very much like to get acquainted with the feral man. In many homes, it is still possible to live ...

Inside many homes have a real oven, sometimes even kept a bit of the interior lining. In the forest nearby, we stopped at the first night, pitch a tent in the woods. Dosimeter readings - with minor deviations from the norm. Because you can afford to take a break and take pictures in the village - and in a way. Do not relax just gave abundant traffic cars on the road.

The first major obstacle - the bridge over the river Uzh. Only 100 meters straight road with excellent visibility, extremely heavy traffic and zero opportunity to jump into the bushes. After a brief respite, the bridge was broken.

By the way, the bridge is actually two, but they are parallel. One - older, with the remnants of floodlights on each side, a second newer. And the water in the river Oh stunning purity. Bottom - a nice soft sand. The radiation background - only 51 mR / h, and wants to take a dip. Wondrous beauty of the place.

Crossing the bridge, the group approached the village Cherevach. Next to it is a watchtower, which initially wanted to climb to conduct reconnaissance on the ground, but suddenly it was inhabited, and all had to hide behind the abandoned village house overgrown with vines. Grapes fonil only 37 mR / h, so I sharpened twig of ripe fruit. Chernobyl grapes - yum-yum!

After Cherevach, we went to the village "Zapolye", where we stayed for lunch. Stew, heated on a burner, pleasantly brightened local bulk apples with a relatively low background.

Just after the village is the local cemetery. Many crosses look very fresh, though not restored after the Chernobyl accident.
