Yesterday in the US celebrated Veterans Day, or the Day of the armistice - "in the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month»
in 1918 signed a peace agreement on the cessation of hostilities on the Western Front, as a result of
which was completed the First World War. Since that day in many allied countries noted as
Veterans Day, Armistice Day, Remembrance Day or Poppy Day. This day honors those who gave
their lives in the struggle for peace. Collected here are photos from this momentous event, celebrated

US Army Captain Jill A. Leyden came to the grave of his friend Major Megan McClung at Arlington Cemetery in Virginia.
McClung died in Iraq in 2006.
