The cultural habits of the Soviet people that suddenly became popular in Europe

Soviet citizens also had something to learn. Analyzing the Soviet past, we are convinced that the impression of that period is twofold. People of retirement age are nostalgic about that time. Grandparents and grandmothers remember how they had fun in their youth and had as much fun as the culture of the Soviet people allowed them. They dream of going back to the past when they could go to work, getting a penny for their work. But there was a certain stability that people were used to. Only you need to live in the present, in which "water does not flow under a lying stone." To succeed, you have to get off the couch and act.

But you cannot prove to old people that they remember with trepidation in their hearts not about that lifestyle, but about their youth.

On the one hand, in the USSR, the views of citizens were riveted to all the innovations and fashion trends that made it possible to consider the Iron Curtain a bit. On the other hand, the culture of the Soviet people was quite high, the quality of education in a socialist country was famous all over the world. And to learn the West from the “Sovk” was something.

For example, when civilized Europeans threw away mountains of used bags without thinking about the approaching environmental disaster, Soviet citizens visited stores with an unchanged avosib in their hands – a mesh bag that folded easily and did not take up much space. Realizing the consequences of plastic pollution, humanity turned its attention to reusable bags, and the avoska net took its place in its daily life.

In old Soviet films, there are often scenes where the characters, having drunk milk or kefir from a bottle, immediately rinse the container and put it on the shelf to then pass. So it was customary, the container was to be returned, and then dairy products were bottled in the same bottles. Now in developed countries, separate garbage collection is practiced, waste is sorted and sent for recycling. And the price of some products includes the price of containers (packaging), which buyers are compensated when it is delivered.

The assortment of clothes in the shops of the Soviet Union left much to be desired, the sizes were not suitable for everyone, it was difficult to surprise someone with the same type of models, and fashionistas had no choice but to buy better materials and pamper themselves with outfits made to order in the studio. Abroad picked up the fashion trend, the names of some fashion designers became known all over the world.

Right from the garden, fresh vegetables fell on the dining table, sometimes delighting and kind neighbors with their variety. Both in us and in other countries, beds on the windowsill or on the balcony, gardens on the roofs of high-rises have become fashionable. Products are valued environmentally friendly, dyes are used natural - people care about their health.

It is not only foreigners (especially gentlemen) who want to borrow the golden rule from us: when men invite women to a restaurant or cafe, the guests must pay for dinner. Our ladies are taken by surprise and confused by the situation when a foreign boyfriend without a drop of embarrassment announces the amount that the girl must add to the bill so that the couple can pay for a romantic evening.

As you can see, a lot of Soviet habits are popular in the modern world. And this is not unusual, because all these things are very rational and logical. Of course, this is no reason to miss the Soviet past. Which of these habits do you still have?
