To thank the Poles for helping Ukraine, Jamala sang a Polish folk song

In 2016, Jamala’s winning song at the Eurovision Song Contest drew the world’s attention to the tragedy of the Crimean Tatar people. And with the beginning of the Russian invasion, the singer became an active fighter of the information front. Thanks to her interview with the leading media, the world learns the truth about the war in Ukraine. In addition, the charity tour of the celebrity has already raised more than $ 80 million to help Ukrainians.

According to the singer, on trips she always tries to get closer to the folk art of the countries visited. No exception to the tour in Poland.

On the way to ancient Torun Jamala met a rather rare Polish song Oj ty rzeko. She shared her performance of this song on Instagram.

The singer noted that she highly appreciates the support of the brotherly Polish people. I want to thank all Poles for their amazing hospitality.

In the song, the river is a life-giving force. It relieves thirst and extinguishes the fire. Immediately there was an association with Poland, which helps us extinguish the flames of war. I believe that only together we will extinguish this fire, in which my house burns every day, she added.

Jamala's Instagram recorded the video sitting on the bank of the river in a T-shirt of the colors of the Ukrainian flag. It is noteworthy that Polish music lovers enjoyed this interpretation of the folk masterpiece. Subscribers of the star, including many Poles, thanked her for the song. Here are just some of the comments: “Unsurpassed, we love you”, “Glory to Ukraine and Poland!”

Later, the winner of Eurovision 2016 sang the song Oj ty rzeko on the stage of the city of Toruń. This is a real musical treasure that she has found through her visit to Poland.

Other stars of Ukrainian show business are also actively fighting on the music and information front. Abroad regularly perform Julia Sanina, Nadia Dorofeeva, Ekaterina Pavlenko, Ruslana, Sergey Babkin. And Monatik, The Hardkiss and Nastya Kamensky wrote new patriotic songs during the war.

As Jamala said, now everyone uses their resource to help. Therefore, the song can be safely equated with a bayonet. In other words, musicians also contribute to the victory of Ukraine. And we hope that it will come as soon as possible!
