Jam made of oranges and lemons Ingredients
  • 5 oranges (1 kg)
  • lemon
  • 900g sugar


Preparation
  1. The first thing you can do is boil the fruit. Sometimes they come to the shops with a thin layer of wax, for ease of transportation. Hot water will help you get rid of it. Now clean citrus fruits, if possible, without leaving white parts on the crusts. But there's no bigotry. Put the crusts in a pan, pour water and boil after boiling for 5 minutes. We drain the water and repeat the procedure. We throw the crusts on the coop and wash under cold water.

  2. The flesh of the fruit is divided into slices, get rid of bitter seeds and cut into 3 parts each. We put sugar in them. In parallel, you can remove some films on the pulp. So the jam will have a more homogeneous texture. Cold pieces of citrus peel are cut in small strips and added to the pulp.

  3. When the sugar-fruit mixture gives juice (and this is in a couple of hours), put the steak on the fire and cook the jam. Prepare as follows: on average heat we boil them for about 6-7 minutes and let them cool. Repeat. And we say it again. On the third cooking, the jam will succumb and take the correct consistency. Thick and appetizing.

  4. Now act as you are more comfortable: hot jam is easier to pour into jars, as it will not have time to finally thicken. Cold is easier to work with because of the temperature. In any case, cans with food should be closed closely and sent to a dark place for at least 3 days. During this time, the remaining tartness of the orange peels will go away, and the jam will become simply divine.
