Dense green dill will prick all summer, if you follow the rules

Fragrant dill is an indispensable kitchen assistant, perfectly combined with many dishes. It is planted almost all summer residents, but thick spreading greenery it pleases not everyone. This popular culture has its secrets. And how to grow dill, so that it turns out lush and provides you with vitamins for the whole year, in our article.

Dill shoots will be emerald only on pre-prepared soil. The ideal fertilizer experienced gardeners consider humus (one third bucket per square meter). To organic fertilizer, you can add a tablespoon of nitrophosca (nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium).

Before planting, dill seeds are washed in warm water. This allows you to wash the film of essential oils, preventing germination. To check the seeds for germination, soak them for 2-3 days in a wet wipe. Those that do not bow are not fit for landing. It is better to use them as a seasoning or to prepare useful tinctures.

Prepare grooves 2 cm deep and 5 cm wide on the bed. The distance between the rows is 20 cm. At the bottom of the grooves, pour a layer of loose compost and well fields it. Seeds in the furrows are better to sprinkle with a zigzag. Then it will be easier to thin them out.

Cover the seeds with loose soil or humus. Watering the beds immediately after landing is no longer necessary. Later this will need to be done once, and in dry weather twice a week. But before the first shoots appear, it is important not to water the beds too abundantly. This can lead to the formation of a solid earth crust.

After the appearance of 2-3 real leaves of the plant will need to thin, leaving between them a distance of 8-10 cm. Dill usually ripens 3-4 weeks from the appearance of shoots. If you want to harvest fresh greens throughout the season, sow dill seeds every 2-3 weeks.

Another important nuance. To extend the time when it will be possible to cut the delicate green mass, pay attention to late ripe varieties with slow development of inflorescences. These are “Lesnogorodsky”, “Dukat”, “Dill” and others. More information can be obtained on the back of the seed pack or from the sales consultant.
