In it you will find all the information you need!

How to grow dill on the windowsill Dill can be grown at any time of the year. You need to be patient and buy all the necessary equipment. If something is missing, most likely, the idea will fail miserably.

First of all, you're going to need a box where dill grows. It should be deep and spacious so that the plant is not cramped. The height of the sides of such a box should be at least 10-15 cm.

Secondly, to grow dill on a windowsill, it is important to use light, but nutritious soil. You can easily find it in any specialty store. Ideally, the soil should be mixed with acidified peat, humus or compost.

Vermiculite is also added to the ground (1 cup of substance per 1 liter of earthen mixture). Vermiculite increases the aeration and moisture capacity of the soil, as well as improves its nutritional properties. This substance will help speed up the process of germination of dill seeds.

The subtleties of growing dill on a windowsill Before landing, place a dill drawer in the form of finely chopped foam. It is ideal for winter cultivation. Other types of drainage, such as ceramsite or broken brick, will not work. They have too high thermal conductivity.

Prepare seeds, polyethylene film, spray gun and high-power LED lamp in advance. Dill does not need to use a special phytolamp. We offer options that can be replaced by the link.

Dill seeds should be planted at the right distance from each other and at the right depth. These are 2 fundamental factors that influence the further growth of greenery. Target a depth of at least 10 mm for each seed. Such a distance (plus 10 cm deep into the soil, given the height of the box) will be enough for the root system of the plant to develop normally.

Seeds are planted in several rows. The distance between adjacent seeds is at least 5 mm. If you fill the whole earth with dill seeds, it simply will not grow. In this case, it is important not to overdo it. Before you plant the seeds, pour the grooves with warm water. And after planting, moisten the seeds with spray water.

Next, you need to sprinkle planted seeds with a small layer of soil. No need to water the ground again. It is enough to wrap the box in film and send it to a warm place. Watch the development of the plant. After the first shoots, it is time to place a box with dill under an LED lamp. The distance from the lamp to the box should be no more than 15-20 cm.

Conditions for growing dill must be grown at a temperature of 15-18 degrees Celsius. It may be lower, however, in this case, the dill will not grow so quickly. However, the plant itself will become stronger. If the air temperature is above 18 degrees, in the end, the greens are very stretched.

It is very important to water the dill on time. If you want to accelerate the growth of the plant, you can add a little urea or urea to the water. For 1 liter of water will be enough 3-4 grains. Use this solution for watering no more than 1 time in 10 days.

LED lamp should warm dill for 12 hours a day. It is impossible to reduce this time, since dill refers to plants of long daylight. If you do not comply with this condition, dill will become pale.

In order to grow dill at home without problems, special attention should be paid to the variety of plants. For home experiments are not suitable precocious, but, on the contrary, late-ripe. For example, "alligator" or "kibrai".

In addition, there is another trick that few people know about. To dill gave a good harvest, before planting, it is enough to soak the seeds in a bitter glass. The seeds should be wrapped in gauze and dipped in a hot drink for 15 minutes. Then the seeds should be washed under running water, dried and only then sowed into the ground.

If you have heard about this method before and know how it works in practice, be sure to share your experience in the comments. A generous harvest!
