What to do with a door that condenses infinitely

With the arrival of cold weather on the front door may appear condensation. This small problem is familiar to almost everyone, especially those who live in a private home. In this article, the editorial board "Site" will tell you how to remove condensation so that the doors do not deteriorate from moisture and last longer to protect the house.

First we will try to understand the causes of this phenomenon. Condensation occurs due to the temperature difference between the door surface and the ambient air. Water falls on a highly cooled surface and immediately freezes. Thus, condensation appears on the cold door. It means one thing. door is not sufficiently insulated.

I faced this problem with the arrival of the first frost. I put a new door in my house this year. I probably should have taken the door more expensive. In the end, “the poor pay twice.” In addition, the problem itself made itself felt along with the freezing of the windows. However, it was enough to insulate the weak spots in the windows, and the condensate immediately disappeared. But with the front door is not so simple.

The most important thing is that there is insulation in the door. And the door box itself is filled with mounting foam from the inside. But this is not enough for doors with a metal (or whole) body. On doors like mine, condensation first forms and then it freezes.

How to get rid of condensation In theory, everything is very simple. Frost together with warm air create condensation. One thing needs to be removed from this formula. But in practice, not everything is so simple: you need to put a door with a thermal break, in which the outer part of the metal of the door and box is separated from the inner special layer. The task of this layer is not to conduct heat, to protect the door. Thus, the cold parts remain outside and do not come into contact with warm indoor air.

Another option is to put a tambourine. In this case, a kind of intermediate zone is created. It reduces the temperature difference between the street and the house, and the condensation from the door disappears. In truth, these solutions require some financial cost, but they are worth it.

For those who want to save money, there is budget solving the problem. We need to put another door in the same opening. The new door should not be the same iron, but warm, made of plastic or wood. Thus, it will be possible to cut off the path for internal warm air, which will rid the door of condensation. In addition, we will receive additional insulation for housing.

This last method works on the principle of thermos. With it, it is easy to level the temperature difference and get rid of condensation on the door. I hope this article will help many to solve this problem and be useful in everyday life. The front door will no longer sweat in winter. Warm up!
