Homemade sprats Homemade sprats taste exactly the same as those sold in cans and cans. However, these sprats will definitely be free of any harmful additives and preservatives. Tasty, natural and healthy.

Ingredients
  • 1 kg of capelin or herring
  • 3 tbsp. l. tea
  • Bay leaf
  • black allspice
  • Carnation
  • 1 tsp Sahara
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp citric acid
  • 100 ml sunflower oil

Preparation
  1. First of all, we need a small fish. You can take one kilogram of capelin or herring. First, you need to clean the fish, and also cut off the head and tail. Then we take a saucepan of a suitable size, pour a little sunflower oil onto the bottom and place the fish tightly in several layers.

  2. In order to give the sprats color, we need to make a special brew. Pour three tablespoons of tea into a half-liter jar and pour boiling water over it. The brew should be strong. For this we need a classic, black tea without any flavors.

  3. We also add all the necessary seasonings to the sprats: bay leaf, black allspice and cloves. You can add something else to your taste. Add two teaspoons to the pan. salt, one tsp. sugar and 0.5 tsp. citric acid. We also add 50 milliliters of sunflower oil.

  4. Now you need to put the pan over low heat, about 4 hours. The water should evaporate, and the fish is further stewed in oil. By the way, it may seem that there is not enough oil in the pan - then you can safely add more.

We recommend leaving the fish in a saucepan overnight with the window open. Still, the smell can be specific, and fresh air will help somehow smooth it out. There should be no water left in the pot with the finished fish - only oil. Homemade sprats can be transferred to a tray or stored directly in a saucepan in the refrigerator. Be sure to treat all your loved ones with delicious homemade sprats at the New Year's festive table. Holiday greetings!
