Kreisel converts Porsche 910 into electric car

The small starter Kreisel Electric, launched by three brothers from Austria, made a name for itself by modifying some popular electric (and non-electric) cars with its own motors and batteries, thereby significantly increasing their range. For example, one of the brothers’ recent “fakes” was an all-electric “Gelendwagen” for Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Recently, the company presented its new project: the classic Porsche 910 was converted into an electric car with a customized transmission.

With his previous work, Kreisel tried to attract the attention of famous brands and show them that the Austrian company can create the best versions of their cars. But unlike other projects, this electric car Kreisel wants to make money.

Rare electric car "Porsche" is not cheap: its price starts from 1 million euros.

Of course, not every millionaire can afford such an electric car: only 35 units were produced in the history of the model, 4 of which were later converted by EVEX, and the Kreisel replica is one of them.

Characteristics of the electric car impressive high energy density: 53-kilowatt battery managed to fit in the car weighing just over a ton.

“The high-performance 53 kWh lithium-ion battery installed in the Kreisel EVEX 910e, which weighs 1,100 kilograms, provides a realistic range of 350 km.” To accommodate the battery as well as the power transmission at the rear, the frame of the original has been slightly modified. In addition, the air cooling of the historic car has been replaced by a cooling system that Kreisel specifically developed for high-performance drive. At the same time, the acceleration of the electrified Porsche 910 to “hundreds” is 2.5 seconds, and its maximum speed is 300 km / h.

Another interesting feature of the novelty is the bidirectional charging system, which allows the battery of the electric car to work as a home energy storage system:

“The battery can be charged from a DC fast charging system with a capacity of up to 100 kW, as well as provide intelligent energy management in combination with solar panels.” For example, with the help of bi-directional charging, a family can even use a sports car as a home battery and temporarily store energy in it for household needs. This feature could be particularly useful as the car is unlikely to be used for daily commutes and will likely be idle in the garage most of the time. published

P.S. And remember, just changing our consumption – together we change the world!
