Epiphyte Pavilion is a green building, the main feature of which is its modern, aesthetic architecture. This modular summer pavilion was designed to be easy to take apart and transported to another place or to store in the winter time.
This is a pre-fabricated building, which started to be built in Munich, using thin-film elements in the window collects energy from the sun during daytime and use it for projections at night.
Its creators, industrial designers brother Marvin (Marvin Bratke) and tor-Magnus Horten (Tor-Magnus Horten), wanted his project to show what the advantages of such a construction can have, in terms of environmental friendliness and ability to fit into the urban environment. This pavilion is ideal for hosting social and cultural events such as exhibitions of works of art or other installations.
The frame of the pavilion is equipped with aluminum plates with a thickness of 15 mm, and for the reduction of air pollution case is coated with nano layer of titanium oxide, which provides the reaction with ultraviolet rays. Thus, the air around the pavilion becomes more clean and healthy.
In addition to providing shade Epiphyte Pavilion also serves the function of cooling the surrounding space. To do this, in the three lower points of the structure provided by the tanks for rain water. It is filtered and cleaned, then sprayed around the pavilion. Also, to facilitate the natural flow of wind building has a forward aerodynamic shape.
Given the focus of the object, using the built-in media projector in the pavilion creates a misty atmosphere, also it is accompanied by sound effects and relevant odors. According to the authors, it should attract people and help them to interact with each other.
