Studio nArchitects used a parabolic bamboo arches to build an unusual building in the Park Da Nong Da Fu Forest Park in Taiwan. As stated by the architects, the aim of the openwork construction of this pavilion was to inform the public about the threat hovering over the forest Da Nong Da Fu Forest. The pavilion, made of freshly cut bamboo, was presented at a recent art festival organized by Taiwan's Bureau of forestry.

Consisting of two rings surrounding the round stage of Forest Pavilion is 22 feet tall and 60 feet in diameter. The organizers of the art festival used the bamboo structure for carrying out opening and closing of the festival. Notably Airy Forest was built by members of the local indigenous Amis tribe, who lived in the region long before the coming of the Chinese and the Europeans. Amis for centuries are experts in the construction of bamboo.

The design of the pavilion so impressed the members of the tribe that they are officially asked permission of the project designers, nArchitects, to include this way of using material is sanctified by ancient tradition construction methods of bamboo in Hualien. The pavilion consists of rings of wood, has very little impact on the environment in which it is installed. And most importantly — a structure which so leads to the interest of local people, clearly deserves close attention.
