Millions of tons of plastic waste sent to landfill, causing irreparable harm to the environment. American scientists from the Argonne National Academy hit on this problem expensive but elegant solution is to recycle the plastic battery!
Leading researcher at National Academy, explains that plastic waste will be processed into a clean girod, due to the high temperature. The principle of the process of "conversion" is quite simple. Packages placed in a special tube with a special catalyst and heated to seven hundred degrees Celsius. After three hours of heat treatment there is a black powder which is pure carbon. The cost of this powder is much higher than the price of gold.
The advantage of this process is the fact that it will now be possible to recycle different types of plastic simultaneously. Previously, this was impossible, the waste has to be sorted.
Besides the obvious ecological value, the project carries a number of economic and technological problems. For example, when using carbon powder in the creation of a battery life increase by an average of five times.
It is also worth noting that to date only 13 percent of all plastic waste in the world is recyclable. In the implementation of development American researchers it will be possible to recycle 100%.
It is definitely a huge breakthrough in green technologies because the problem of recycling plastic is on the first place in the world.
