The EU increased its imports of wood pallet

Eve had the final statistics for 2013 relating to import wood pallet European Union countries. During the reporting period, all EU countries, a total of substantially increased imports of wood pellets, compared to the previous years.

The layout of the total volume imported pallet by country showed that the largest number of biofuels were imported into the UK – about 3.3 million tons, and this country, as in previous years, has become the undisputed leader of the Eurozone on the introduction of solid fuel heating systems, which, judging by the content of the website www.ruskotel.com on energy efficiency are the ideal solution for both private and commercial heating.

Significant volumes of pallet has also been imported to Denmark (2.2 million tons), and Italy (1.7 million tons), and despite lower numbers, in comparison to the EU performance of these countries in the light of the transition to renewables is very, very significant.

As for exporting wood pellets to the European countries, the leader here, however, is pretty predictable, was Germany. Enterprises of this country sent to the European country of 2.3 million tons of pallet, and a decrease of the indicator compared to past years due to rising domestic demand and considerable price dumping by American manufacturers.

In second place was Latvia, which in the countries of the European Union million tons of the biofuel, and it is Portugal, which increased to 760 thousand tons bypassed Russia, was in third place in 2012.

As with other market trends in the pallet of the European Union, analysts noted a number of interesting points. In Italy was recorded the growth in demand for wood pellets of the highest grade, in Sweden, due to a decrease in domestic production, increased imports, and in the UK, as already noted, increased consumption of pallets of all varieties because of government programs to support alternative fuels.
