To lose weight useful even for a short time


New research by British scientists show that even short-term weight loss at any age has positive long-term effects on the heart and blood vessels.

Scientists at University College in London concluded that even short-term weight loss is advisable, after a survey of 1273 men and women of advanced age. Author John Denfeld says: "Our study is unique because we studied individuals aged 60 years and allowed us to assess the effect of modest changes in obesity to health." The Professor added: "Our results show that weight loss at any age can lead to long-term benefits in cardiovascular diseases". In comments to the research, Elizabeth Cespedes and Frank Hu from the Harvard school of public health explained that it is "encouraging findings" that even temporary weight loss has its advantages.
