Energy efficient office of the Institute of Geology
The headquarters of the territorial branch of the Geological Institute of Catalonia, built in 2012 by the architectural firm Oikosvia Arqutiectura. The four-storey building with an area of 1234 square meters, including office space, research laboratories, conference hall, canteen for staff and other necessary facilities. The facade is made of Korjenevskoy steel with many small holes that form a pattern — geological map of the region. In addition to the aesthetic function, it also serves as a filter of sunlight. Highly efficient air conditioning system and water heating are working on geothermal energy, along with other "green" technologies, has provided the project with energy certification "A" level according to local standards.
