Fasting for eight days improves the immune system

A new study by American scientists shows that the fasting person more than two days a year is good for the immune system, particularly those who underwent chemotherapy.

Expert Valter Longo of University of southern California, said, "When you starve, the system tries to save energy, and one of the things to save energy consists in treatment of many immune cells, especially those which may be damaged". The team conducted a kind of academic positions for two to four days every six months. As explained by Professor Longo: "the Body in starvation signalling, stem cells for regeneration and restores the system. If the immune system damaged by chemotherapy or aging cyclic fasting can literally generate new immune system."

Post also reduces the negative effects and mortality in mice exposed to chemotherapy drugs and increase immunity in aging mice. Dr. Tanya Dorff, co-author of the study, added: "At the time, as chemotherapy saves lives, it causes significant damage to the immune system. The results of this study suggest that fasting may mitigate some of the harmful effects of the procedure."
