Chatillion car graveyard in Belgium

These spooky apocalyptic images are not a scene from the series "the Walking dead", they actually exist. Is this, one of the biggest car cemeteries in the world, in a small forest in the southern part of Belgium. Graveyard cars is the name of Chatillon (Chatillion) and he is almost 70 years old.

According to legend, the owners of these cars were American soldiers who during world war II he served in this region of the world. After the war, all the soldiers returned to their homeland in the US but to pick up a car, the Americans could not, because to get them home was too expensive. All the soldiers that wished to return their vehicles home offered to do it at his own expense, but none of them have gone for it. Therefore, the command staff made the decision not to transport the cars and leave them in the woods. Cars are put close to each other and located on a hill in the forest, thus hiding them from the outside world.

In Chatillon there were four autoclude, with more than 500 vintage cars. Unfortunately, most of the cars were stolen by collectors or even disposed of by local residents with regard to environmental issues in 2010 and currently there is only one cemetery. It should be noted that in this cemetery there are those cars that were produced after the war, in the 1950s and 1960s.

In the photos below you can see a pretty bleak picture through a rusted cars lined up along the forest, as if they temporarily stopped here to rest and continue on its way. Even more flavor to the pictures adds a pristine forest is actually like from a horror movie... With such natural scenery, we can successfully remove post-apocalyptic movies.
