Wooden cottage in the Bohemian forest
Czech architectural firm FAM among the stars built a house for living in Northern Bohemia. It is located on a picturesque forest area near the shore of the lake. As the main building material, the architects used wood, ensuring visual compatibility of the building with the environment, and also allowed to minimize the physical impact to the site during the construction process. Relatively lightweight wood construction mounted on metal supports, leaving the ground under a unharmed. The facade is covered with vertical planks of larch, and its glassed-in part can be hidden by sliding shutters. Internal space is organized in an open format for space heating use wood-burning fireplace.
