Copper chapel on an island off of Turku
The author of the project of the chapel is a Finnish architect Matti Sanaksenaho, founder of the Helsinki Studio Sanaksenaho Architects. Arched pine frame, sheathed on the outside with copper plates, making the chapel more like a boat than a building. As noted by Matti, over time, copper will acquire a greenish hue, and the building will be visually closer to natural surroundings, and interior wood trim will change its color, darken and blush.
