Printed on a 3D printer brick will cool your home

Engineers from the company Emerging Objects has developed a unique ceramic brick Cool Brick, which can only be manufactured on a 3D printer.

The uniqueness of the material is that it is capable of cooling building in hot dry climates using water.

This is the first project of its kind, clearly demonstrating how 3D printing technology helps to achieve significant reductions in energy use by households in arid regions by reducing the need for expensive air conditioning.

The design of the ceramic bricks was based on the concept of evaporative cooling that has been used since 2500 BC

This concept allows to cool the air, lowering the humidity, making a separate humidifier unnecessary (thereby eliminating the additional cost of electricity).
