2 MAIN qualities of an ideal leader

Helmuth Karl Bernhard von Moltke – German field Marshal. Considered one of the founders of the German Empire and a great military strategist of the late 18th century.

He had a particular approach to categorizing officers. This approach is used in some armed forces today, and most importantly, it can be applied in project management.

The resulting four regions or four kinds of people: Smart and Lazy, Smart and Active, Stupid and Lazy, Stupid and Active.

Stupid and Lazy

This type of people does not seek to conquer the top of the career ladder, but is ideally suited to performing simple routine tasks. Sometimes they are able to give sensible ideas. If no ideas, then at least they will not bring any problems.

Smart and Active

This type is obsessed with ideas and prone to perfectionism. Such people seek to control each step and know how to delegate tasks. They make bad leaders, but great ordinary employees.

Stupid and Active

This is the most dangerous type of people. Moltke believed that they require constant monitoring. Otherwise they will create problems faster than you will be able to realize or correct. Such people bring too much trouble. They just need to fire.

Smart and Lazy

This type of people smart enough to understand what you need to do. And looking for the easiest way to achieve what you want. Often they think in a positive way and tend not to spend effort in vain. Moltke believed that this type is ideal for leadership positions.
