Monday: How to love this day and benefit from it
Paradoxical, it would seem, the idea is put forward by the co-author of the bestseller ReWork and the creator of Basecamp David Heinemeier Hensson.
I love Mondays. I actually like Friday less. Friday is often the lowest point of my week.. Sometimes you feel that you didn’t have time to do as much as you hoped, spent a lot of energy – well, frankly, you just want to put an end to it.
Monday, on the other hand, is always full of hope and freshness. Imagine all the wonderful things this week can bring! Imagine how you finally solve a complex problem that left you brain-boiling last week. Monday is a day of optimism, a time when reality has not yet subjugated your working life or suppressed your cheerful spirit.
How do you learn to enjoy Monday? I think the main thing is to do anything on the weekend, but not what you will do on Monday. There is no need to analyze the accumulated letters on Saturday afternoon, no need to think about work and check how things are going on on Sunday morning. The weekend is supposed to be a desert with no work, and Monday seems like an oasis.
Of course, all this makes sense only if you like what you do – and the people you do it with. If neither is true, it may be time to ask yourself: why is this so? And then do something to fix the situation.
Monday will turn from impending horror to a source of joy if you learn moderation and restraint. People are naturally determined to find balance. And food tastes better when you mix the ingredients instead of pushing the same thing in a stupa. Let the weekend be an exclusive plate of non-work, and then you’ll wake up on Monday morning hungry and looking forward to a new portion. published
P.S. And remember, just by changing our consumption – together we change the world!
