Scientific evidence shows that people deliberately harm themselves

If you get a high score for the exam, you will want to continue their "winning streak", is not it? Experiment says no. On the contrary, you are intentionally and deliberately spoil everything yourself.

Sometimes our behavior reduces the chances of success. As strange as it may sound, but sometimes we are conducting themselves so. Imagine the situation that we wish to impress someone, and so afraid to blurt out something extra that did not say anything. And it is unlikely someone will be impressed. Or, to get away from the problem, we get drunk as a lord, instead of trying to solve them.

And after all, why we are harming ourselves? Perhaps the success of our strategy is wrong, and maybe we harm ourselves unconsciously, without even noticing. Anyway, no one even acknowledged to himself that deliberately jeopardized their success.

And yet, in 1978, an experiment conducted by researchers Edward Jones and Stephen Berglasom showed that man is capable of deliberately sabotaging their achievements. The experiment involved a group of students, who were asked to take the test. After the test, each student was told that he had an excellent result, regardless of whether it was in fact, and offered to pass one more test. Before the second test of the students offered a choice of one of two drugs (according to researchers, it is absolutely legal): the first increase mental ability, the second, on the contrary, decreases. And what most of the students chosen? Ironically, the second drug.

Of course, the results of tests on what does not influence. Yet for the experiment were selected mainly diligent students, and who wants to lose face. Therefore, we can not say that the "test" had no interest in a positive result. Then why students deliberately lowered their chances of success? According to the researchers, as well as the recognition of some students in the event of failure of the blame can be blamed on the drug, which is a bad influence on the brain, not the brain itself. We all know that it is easier to find an excuse, than to admit their shortcomings.
