Monkeys also understand what wealth

Secured primates tend to waste money

"Rich" monkeys can take the risk, making it a good model for human behavior.

Currency, of course, means little to rhesus monkeys, so they were given a delicious drink, to see how they will behave during gambling. Wealth was measured beverages if the monkey started to drink it or "poorer" his other relatives, or just wants to drink, which can be determined by a blood test.

Most of the monkeys were little inclined to take risks, but the more thirsty, the less were willing to take risks. Monkey "richer" were inclined to indulge in riskier ventures - as well as people-investors.

Economist from the University of Sydney Agnieszka Timula, one of the authors of the study, believes that the biological mechanisms underlying our attitude to wealth, so similar to the behavior of the monkeys could develop even before the people had such a thing as a currency.
