Another innovation in this area should become a mechanism of movement of lifts. As the resource Gizmag, the elevator car is driven with a magnetic cushion, similar to that used in high-speed maglev train. Using a magnetic cushion will completely abandon the wires and provide an opportunity to move several lifts in one shaft in different directions.

By design, the use of several elevators in one shaft will reduce the maximum waiting time for the elevator to 30 seconds.

At the moment, the technology is still under development and is scheduled to begin testing in 2016. However, we can already say that if the maglev-lift will be successfully tested, it will be the first major change in the lift business technology since the invention of the elevator.
