At Disney created a robot that knows how to draw pictures in the sand
According to ресурса TechCrunch , engineering and scientific laboratory Disney Research together with the Swiss engineering school ETH Zürich created Beach Bot - cute robot, intended for drawing pictures in the sand. The robot moves on soft wheels which do not damage already done drawing, and behind it is equipped with a set of pins, resembling a rake.
Each of the individual pins can be raised or lowered, which affects the width of the resulting line. The robot is guided by the column that you want to stick in the sand, denoting the place of drawing. After starting it can independently draw a given vector drawing or move on command from the operator panel.
Most programmers have faced at the beginning of training with the so-called "tortoise graphics" where the cursor moving across the screen may leave a trail, thus forming a pattern. The robot is also designed as a stylized turtle, and although his work has no practical value, it can bring aesthetic pleasure his "creativity". It was nice to be out of the hotel window to look at the morning beach, decorated with drawings.
