Google is testing the delivery of goods by means of drones
And does it not in the US, and in Australia, in Queensland. Testing of the system delivery drones carried out in the most that neither is on, the field conditions. For delivery of goods developm special UAV, with a wingspan of about 1, 5 meter and the ability to move in the vertical and horizontal planes.
Once the drone reaches the set point, the weight comes down to earth on a special security cable, which ensures the safety of the goods at the delivery.
In flight, the load is placed in a special compartment, which is located between the wings of the machine. The planned flight altitude unit: 40-60 meters. The accuracy of the device - the size of the door threshold (ie, slip may reach a maximum of a couple of tens of centimeters).
It is worth noting that Google has begun work on a project of unmanned aerial vehicle (within the subdivision Google X) even in 2011, planning to use the development for the delivery of goods to customers throughout the day.
Despite the ban on the use of drones in some regions (almost all over the United States, such a system of delivery, as well as flying drones in the settlements, special decree prohibited the Federal Aviation Administration), large and small companies continue to test the delivery system using drones. Thus, such a system has already been tested in work of the United States and Europe (though for the most part, before the ban).
Habré also publish news that the Russian company and tried to establish delivery using drones, but also in Russia lawmakers were unhappy with such an initiative.
