Nature of Ukraine. Buky Canyon

Everyone who once decide to go to Ukraine urged to visit the most beautiful place - Buky Canyon in the Cherkassy region. Just a couple of hours drive from Kiev, and you find yourself in paradise. I'm sure you will not regret. I also propose to look at this amazing place in the continuation of the post!

Canyon begins with a small, but very noisy waterfalls "Side cut" (from Ukrainian "Whirlpool") from the old bridge over the River Mountain Tikich, and further stretches about five kilometers between the oldest rocks of the Proterozoic era. Scientists estimate that the local granite boulders of more than two billion years, that is, they were witnessing the birth of life on Earth.

Canyon is very tortuous and narrow - sometimes it is only the width of 20-40 meters, but the depth is quite large and sometimes even reaches up to 20 meters. Local rocks very picturesque, though rugged whimsical patterns, and in the outlines of one of them can be considered a human profile. The height of the boulders is 10 to 30 meters, and their color shades can very clearly distinguish the structure of stones.

Besides the incredibly beautiful landscape, Buky Canyon is also known that there was once built the first hydroelectric power plant in Ukraine. Now it no longer works, but artificially created dam good fit into the surrounding landscape. Also near the waterfall is another dilapidated building - a former water mill, built in the nineteenth century. Today this building is the oldest in the Beeches, and although he survived only by a wall with empty window-sill, in tandem with the beauty of these Buky Canyon ruins the impression of a mysterious ancient castle.

In 1972 Buky Canyon was given the status of state natural monuments of local importance, and in our days it is an amazing place attributed to the hundred most beautiful corners of Ukraine, which is certainly worth a visit for tourists.
