About the notation should be discussed separately, in order to avoid further confusion. Automobiles have Dodge, firstly intrafactory series designation, usually on the type of engine, in this case - T202. In addition, each of the performances had alphanumeric model designation - in this case, V represents th 1940 model year, C - Capacity 500 kg, 1-6 - versions. G502 3/4 ton Dodge WC Truck (T214)

Cars Dodge G505 for all its virtues machines were initially civil, although more or less adapted to the conditions and requirements of the army. Their successor, awarded with their own designation G502, originally created as a specialized army vehicle. The engine, gearbox, razdatka were taken from previous models, but otherwise the design was radically redesigned. One of the main tasks of cars WC-51/52 with a universal body was transporting an infantry squad of eight persons with the equipment. After the Second World War on the basis of military vehicles Dodge WC has developed a version for the civil market. In contrast to the military vehicles 'Dodge Power Wagon' equipped with closed cabins civilian pattern or closed body type army 'Carryall'. In the early 60s it was decided to replace as much as possible in the armed forces of the United States develop a special car less expensive serial civilian cars with a minimum of rework.
