In 1993, at age 16, Orlando left his hometown and moved to London to play there as a part of the National Youth Theatre, where he worked for more than 2 years, after which he was awarded a scholarship to study at British American Academy of acting (British American Drama Academy).

Graduated from the Academy, Bloom received a role in the play "A Walk in the Vienna Woods» / A Walk In the Vienna Woods /, where he was noticed by a casting agent, and was invited to a small role in the film "Wilde» / Wilde, 1997 /, which tells about the writer Oscar Wilde.

After the tape Orlando began to actively invite to appear in other films, but the young actor chose to shoot his studies at the prestigious School of Music and Drama Guildhall (where I studied stars like Ewan McGregor, Ben Chaplin and Joseph Fiennes). While studying, he continued to play in the theater - including performances with his participation were Chekhov's "Three Sisters," "Uncle Vanya" and some others. In addition, he took part in British TV shows such as «Casualty», «The Ben Elton Show».

In 1998, while studying at the Guildhall, Orlando was an accident - trying to climb to the roof terrace, he fell and seriously injured his back ... The doctors say he may never walk again. But luck was on the side of the actor and a week later he could walk with crutches, but after a while, and even without them. Orladno himself jokingly calls himself a walking misfortune - for his life, he broke both his legs, arm, wrist, nose and jaw folded several times.

As a teenager, Orlando once tried to overpower the trilogy JR Tolkien's "Lord of the Rings", but gave up this occupation, preferring to read sports and other entertainment. Once again, sit down at the book he had just 22 years old when after only three days after his release from the Guildhall he was confirmed for the role of Legolas in the long-awaited film adaptation of the cult all the work.

Actually Orlando originally auditioned for the role of Faramir, the character appearing in the second series "VK", but this role was the Australian actor David Wenham.

After graduating from Guildhall actor I had a long time to leave home and move to England by a new Zealand director Peter Jackson selected as the nature of the filming of the epic.

Before filming Bloom had for several months to train in the possession of the bow, the sword, as well as riding lessons in order to best fulfill the selected image on the screen. Despite requests from producers to refrain for a period of filming on active pastime, risk-taking, Orlando pulled away in New Zealand for the full program - snowboarding, as well as mastering the surf, along with other members of the crew team.

During the filming of the actors we were so close together that Orlando Bloom and Domink Mohan offered in memory of this friendship do all small tattoo as a symbol for "9" in Elvish. All nine actors, members of the Brotherhood have gone through this ritual tattoo, except for John Rhys Davies (Gimli) who sent in his place for this procedure understudy.

"Fellowship of the Ring" was released in December 2001 and immediately became box-office hit, was recognized as the fans and the critics one of the best adaptations of the history of cinema. And despite the fact that Orlando Bloom in the role of the first part of the trilogy is not the most important, his hero is remembered by many viewers and actor immediately got an army of fans worldwide.

Having finished shooting the trilogy (all three films were shot in New Zealand, at the same time), Orlando went to London to pursue his film career. Almost immediately, he landed the role of a young soldier in "Black Hawk Down" by Ridley Scott, which tells of the landing of American troops in Morocco, turned into a bloodbath and turning a tragedy for the Americans, resulting in 15 hours of siege, 18 American soldiers were killed and about 73 seriously injured. Despite the fact that against Josh Hartnett, Ewan McGregor and many other Vivid characters hero Orlando Bloom (the one that fell off the helicopter and injured his back) a little bit lost, the actor still got quite warm reviews.

The second and third part of the "Lord of the Rings", only further increase the fan army actor, who at the time of the screens "Return of the King" was in Hollywood already snapped up, received offers from leading film producers, among whom was the Jerry Bruckheimer ("The Rock" , "Armageddon"). Bloom received an offer to play a major role in the "Pirates of the Caribbean" - adventure tape, the creation of which are inspired by the eponymous Disneyland attraction, enjoyed great popularity among visitors to the amusement park.

And hardly anyone could have imagined then that the "Pirates" for its popularity can compete with himself "Lord of the Rings" - the army of fans of Depp and Bloom after the release of this tape has increased several times, and Keira Knightley got a strong impetus to the development of his career. After collecting more than US $ 300 million (with a budget of 125 million), the tape has become one of the biggest blockbusters of the year, forcing their creators almost immediately announce the launch of two more sequels to "Pirates".

However, by the time schedule of both Depp and Bloom was painted already for several years ahead. In 2004, the screens had to leave immediately three tapes with Bloom - chief among them, the epic story of "Troy" left in his shadow and boxing experiments Bloom in the "calcium guys" (in the US it was released directly to the TV) and his adventures in the crime drama «Havoc», which also has not yet received significant release in the States.

In fairness it should be noted that the "Trojan" character Bloom has caused many fans of the actor disappointment and rejection - insecure and unable to take responsibility for their actions Paris obviously lost the brave Hector (Eric Bana), who gave as a result of his life, but and Achilles by Brad Pitt, for which, in fact, many spectators and went to "Troy" initially.

Back to the heroic image of Bloom helped Ridley Scott ("Gladiator"), invited the actor for the lead role in "Kingdom of Heaven" - and although the story of a blacksmith, who became a knight and a hero for the whole nation, has received a number of very cool reviews from critics, fans of the actor in their general mass, they were satisfied with the return of your pet in the heroic role.

We have to admit that after years of a succession of epic / historical / heroic roles Bloom, a chance to see it in the image of a simple American guy, for many fans was a real gift. The chance that the audience gave the director Cameron Crowe, always distinguished by the ability to remove fine and mental tape ("Jerry Maguire," "Almost Famous," "Vanilla Sky"). In "Elizabethtown," Bloom played on the verge of suicide (after the crushing failure at work) Man, went to the hometown of his father at his funeral, and on the way met a charming girl (Kirsten Dunst) that managed to revive his love life.
