Where is the football player Andriy Shevchenko and how he supports Ukraine

The world-famous Ukrainian football player Andriy Shevchenko has long lived abroad. When Russia treacherously invaded Ukraine, he began an active fight on the information front. The Ukrainian began appearing on the airwaves of the world media, urging the public not to stand by while the European state is at war.

Shevchenko’s life has never been as political as it is now. He is doing everything possible to help his country survive and defeat the enemy. Andrey recently visited Kiev. There he met with President Vladimir Zelensky. How exactly the football player plans to help Ukraine further, read in today's article.

Footballer Andriy Shevchenko Shevchenko's family was in Ukraine when the country was bombed in the early morning of February 24. At first, the ex-footballer thought about joining the AFU and going to the front. However, he soon realized that he could achieve great results as a media personality.

The last time Andrew was in his native Kiev last year. He came home on the Independence Day of Ukraine. In 2022, the Ukrainian was brought home by the war. President Volodymyr Zelensky personally invited Shevchenko to become the first ambassador of the United 24 presidential initiative.

United 24 is a national Ukrainian brand, the essence of which is to unite international partners, donors and philanthropists from different parts of the world. The main goal of this fundraising platform is to help and support Ukraine during the war. In fact, it will work in such a way as to combine all kinds of existing funds and direct the collected funds to the needs of Ukrainians.

The Ukrainian leadership chose Shevchenko for this position for a reason. The first Ambassador of United 24 was to be a man known all over the world. For many years Andrey represented his native country in the football arena. And now he will fully strengthen its position among other countries of the world.

Andrei Shevchenko’s attitude to the war “From the first days of the war, I decided on my position,” Shevchenko said in an interview with the BBC. The football coach decided that his main weapon would be the word. He also raised funds for Ukrainian refugees.

For 3 months, news about Ukraine was and continues to be in the world information field. But people abroad are getting tired of it. Shevchenko is sure that this is normal. This situation is like a wave: it reaches its peak, falls, and then rises again.

In essence, United 24 is another way to remind the world of a war that affects more than just Ukraine. A huge number of other countries depend on the events unfolding at the front. That is why it is so important to continue to support Ukrainians and help them in word and deed.

Not only Andriy Shevchenko actively shows his position and helps Ukraine. So did other Ukrainian footballers. As it turned out, the athletes created a separate chat, where everyone shares their results of volunteer work. This, for example, Roman Zozulya, Andrei Yarmolenko and Alexander Zinchenko.

In addition, since the first days of the war, Ukraine has been supported by foreign footballers: David Beckham, Robert Lewandovsky and others. Shevchenko says many of his colleagues donate money to incognito charities.

With football players from Russia, the Ukrainian does not communicate. Moreover, he believes that until the war ends with the victory of Ukraine, Russian athletes are closed all roads to sports. There should be no competitions or matches.

Andriy Shevchenko has not played football for a long time, in recent years he worked as a coach. However, recently the ex-footballer took part in a charity match in Milan. On the field met the stars of world football: Francesco Totti, Julio Cesar, Bernd Schneider, Lilan Turam, Andrea Pirlo and others.

By the way, the game ended with the score 4: 2, won the team of Andrey Shevchenko. The funds collected at the match will be sent to funds that help Ukrainian immigrants.

Andriy Shevchenko sets an excellent example to his colleagues both in Ukraine and abroad. His work is inspiring, and that is wonderful. We wish him strength and patience, and Ukraine a speedy victory!
