Old, dirty and torn things are not suitable for humanitarian aid to displaced persons

According to the latest data, about 4.5 million people left Ukraine because of the war. Countries around the world continue to provide humanitarian aid to displaced persons. In European countries, Ukrainians receive the status of temporary protection. In addition, refugees are assisted by volunteers and local residents.

Support is strong not only abroad, but also within Ukraine itself. In the western and central regions, where the situation is relatively calm, there are humanitarian aid centers that can be used by IDPs. Editorial "Site" I decided to tell you what people need most, and what, on the contrary, should not be brought to the humanitarian reception center.

In addition to Ukrainian refugees, there are also internally displaced persons. They left their home and moved to another safer city. Today, most people go to Western Ukraine. Also for many temporary residence became Vinnitsa and Khmelnitsky.

Immigrants need assistance in the first and second cases. Unfortunately, a lot of people have lost their homes in the literal sense of the word. They just have nowhere to go back. And it is also good if a person packed an alarming suitcase, taking all the necessary things with him. But not everyone managed to make it. Refugees and displaced persons therefore need basic necessities.

In Ukraine, there are various humanitarian centers where Ukrainians can receive assistance. Every day, local cafes and restaurants prepare free hot lunches for people. In addition, there is a special system of material payments for IDPs. The state pays everyone in need a fixed amount of money.

Refugees abroad also receive assistance. An incredible number of volunteers and special volunteer centers work at the border. Ukrainians really feel this support and are grateful for it. For example, recently in the Polish city of Gdansk, IDPs cooperated and removed the local park. Thus, they wanted to express their gratitude to the authorities and caring residents of Gdansk. Similar actions are planned in other cities of Poland.

Immigrants need a lot of different things. On the basis of requests, a collection is announced in humanitarian centers, which is joined by everyone. First of all, clothes and shoes are needed. It happens that a person managed to take with him only a couple of elements of the wardrobe. Therefore, special emphasis is placed on collecting underwear, socks, pants, T-shirts, jackets and outerwear. We also need shoes of different sizes.

Moms with babies need diapers and baby food. People of all ages, especially old people, need medication. In addition, there is always a need for personal hygiene products: soap, shampoos, wet wipes, toilet paper, razors and so on.

Normally, food is also collected in humanitarian aid centers. Preference is given to food that can be stored without a refrigerator and not spoil. It happens that hot dishes are prepared on the basis of the humanitarian point. All this can be clarified on the spot and go to eat in the institution that accepts immigrants.

If you want to join the aid, it is best to clarify what exactly the humanitarian center needs. The fact is that every day the requests can be different. Something ends and something, on the contrary, appears. In addition to basic necessities and products, you can also bring money. Or transfer them to volunteer accounts. However, contact only official humanitarian points so that no one deceives you.

Unfortunately, there are people who really want to make money on someone else’s misfortune. In addition, not everyone understands what things are suitable for transferring them to centers for displaced persons. Recently, the wife of Ukrainian TV presenter Vladimir Ostapchuk shared with subscribers unpleasant footage. In the volunteer center, where Kristina Gornyak works, a parcel with leaky and worn shoes came. Someone also sent women's shoes on a high stud.

Friends, it is obvious that such things should not be sent. First of all, no one can walk in shoes worn to holes. It'll just have to be thrown away. Second, heels in war are clearly the last thing poor refugee women can think of. Kristina Gorniak urges people to respect each other. Now it is important to appreciate the efforts of everyone and not to neglect the time of volunteers who have to sort things sent.

Clothing and shoes should be in wearable. Yeah, not new, no big deal. But washed and fresh! Otherwise, what is the use of such assistance?

We believe that soon the war will end and people will be able to return home. Peace to all of us!
