I love quiche, but I've never seen a recipe without butter, it's good to have a vegan recipe.

For a long time I wanted to make tart or kish, but still did not reach my hands. But the other day I came across a very interesting recipe, the soul demanded culinary experiments! Literally yesterday I cooked a mind-blowing sandcake with an unusual filling. The main feature of the dish is the complete absence of animal products. I'm in a hurry to share the find with you!



Since I had never cooked dishes of this kind before, at first I was worried if I could make it at all. But quish turned out to be really simple. The basis of sand dough with a delicate cream tofu filling is complemented by juicy cherry tomatoes. And the secret ingredient adds a pleasant aroma and cheese flavor to this cake. More recipe!

Vegan quiche recipe with tofu Test ingredients
  • 200g whole wheat flour
  • 80 ml of hot water
  • 50ml vegetable oil
  • salt


Filling ingredients
  • 600g tofu
  • 100-150 ml of vegetable milk
  • 2-4 tsp lemon juice
  • 20 g of nutritional yeast flakes
  • 8-10 cherry.
  • 0.5 tsp baking powder
  • salt, spices to taste


Preparation
  1. Let's do the test first. In a deep bowl, mix flour, salt, hot water and vegetable oil. Mix the dough, form a ball from it, put it in a food film or bag and send it to the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.



  2. While the dough is resting in the fridge, prepare the filling. Using a blender grind tofu, adding vegetable milk to it. I used coconut and soybean. It'll suit your taste. When the mass is uniform, add salt and spices. Perfect for oregano, dried garlic, paprika.
  3. Add to the future pouring for quiche lemon juice, baking powder and nutritional yeast, well beat the mass with a blender. Nutritional yeast is a popular product in vegetarian and vegan cuisine, which replaces cheese in its taste and aroma. Thanks to him, the future quiche smells like a classic cheese pizza.



  4. Roll the finished dough into a thin layer. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees and prepare the form for quiche. I used a shape 28 cm in diameter. Carefully place the dough in the form, prick the bottom with a fork, so that during baking the cakes do not rise and swell. Bake the cake for 10 minutes.



  5. As soon as the cake is lightly baked, take it out of the oven. Place a filling on it, evenly tamping it with a spatula. Decorate your quiche with cherry and oregano halves. Bake an open sand cake for another 25 minutes.



  6. After cooking, let the quiche cool completely, and then serve to the table. Bon appetit!
