How is the house inside the greenhouse

A small house in nature away from the bustle of the city is a real dream for many. Silence, fresh air, beautiful nature and, of course, a site where you can grow vegetables, berries, flowers.

While some dream, others make their dreams come true. And today's edition. "Site" A Swedish family built a greenhouse around their home to provide food and warmth.

Marie Granmar and Charles Saquilotto voluntarily cut themselves off from the world. This Swedish family lives in a giant glass bubble that protects against the harsh Nordic weather. At the same time, Marie and Charles found a way to get the best out of nature.

In fact, their house is located in a huge greenhouse. And since the winter here is harsh and protracted, the constant access of the family to fresh and free food is a huge plus. In addition, inside the greenhouse is quite warm. And while the outside temperature is below zero, in the house of Marie and Charles it is about 20 degrees.

“In Sweden, the average family turns on heating in September and turns off when it’s already warm in mid-May,” said Marie Granmar, the owner of the wonder house.

Living in a greenhouse can significantly save the amount of electricity consumed for heating the house. And if it gets cold, the family uses a wood-burning stove to get extra heat.

Being in such a cocoon, Marie in the rain or snow can relax on the balcony or terrace, look at the stars or catch rays of the sun. And in warmer times, the glass ceiling is simply opened.

By the way, thanks to the construction of the glass ceiling, Marie and Charles dismantled the roof. Thus, they have more space for the whole family, where they can now play with their son, read, garden and simply sunbathe in the open air.

Thanks to the greenhouse, the family from Sweden managed to create a truly Mediterranean climate. This allows them to grow grapes, cucumbers, tomatoes, figs. They also have fruit from apple trees and cherries. Good greenhouse harvest. It can significantly save on products.

“The conditions here are good, but it takes a lot of work to get the harvest,” Marie admits.

There are other elaborate systems in this amazing house. For example, there is a system of collecting rainwater for family needs. Even the toilet is equipped in such a way that provides free fertilizer to the plant.

At the same time, Marie and Charles plan to create a system that will allow them to accumulate solar energy in the warm season to use this reserve in the cold winter.

“To find self-sufficiency, you should work on your own comfort,” Marie said.

“Our philosophy is to make good use of solar energy, nature and the power of water,” says Charles.

The plants in the house of this Swedish family not only bear fruit, but also purify the air, giving more oxygen. However, the owners are sure that they still have something to work on.

By the way, Marie and Charles are not the first to own such a house in a greenhouse. A similar idea was described by the Swedish architect Bengt Varn, who brought his idea to life, having built the first “nature house” in Stockholm 45 years ago. Later, such houses appeared throughout Sweden and even abroad.

Recently, we also talked about an American family that set up an eco-friendly farm on just 4 acres of land. They also talked about how to build a house. Take a look and try to put these ideas into practice.
