How German life principles differ from ours and whether they should be adopted

I have a friend. Her name is Brigitte. She's from Germany. We started our communication many years ago on the Internet. I wrote to her to learn the European way of life and to practice my German. Brigitte responded to join Russian culture and improve her Russian.

Since then, she has visited me several times. We regularly talk and discuss various topics of life. It is especially interesting to discuss priorities for German and Russian women. And they turn out to be quite different.



For many Slavic women, a man can be both a goal of life and a means to maintain it. For Germans, a man is neither. First of all, he is a friend and companion with whom you can share the secret.

But it must be said that German women are not in a hurry to get married. While our students are already giving birth to their husbands, their German "sisters" prefer life for themselves, not disdaining fleeting relationships.

It is no secret that many of our women marathon, even if they just need to go to the next store for bread. After all, “only with makeup will they pay attention to me and consider me beautiful,” the Slav will think. The German will be perplexed to lead an eyebrow and go to the supermarket in sports pants. For them, the priority is naturalness, moderation in cosmetics and natural beauty. Men’s opinions about appearance do not play such a significant role.

The situation is similar with clothes. Although this is an indicator of status, no one will protrude their wealth. Everyone buys clothes based on income. So expensive dresses, shoes or fur coats on credit sounds no less savagery than “oh horror, I came out unpainted!”

The European way of life implies self-love. This is expressed in a healthy lifestyle, proper nutrition and self-care. After all, if a person is healthy and cheerful, then the appearance retains its natural beauty. Through the expression of this love, a woman feels independent and whole. Especially if it provides for itself.

Since marriage is not a goal in life for German women, self-realization comes first. It can be career success or personal achievement. The most important thing is to become someone who knows and loves his business, while receiving a decent salary. Then we can say that life was a success. And only after building a personal foundation, you can start a desired family and children.

To feel calm and confident, women in Germany protect the privacy of their lives. They answer personal questions to friends, but they do not hurry to share problems. At the same time, they actively support public control (for example, against domestic violence). So the concept of private boundaries is not very clear in Brigitte's words.

If Slavs are often selfless and emotional, then Germans are more self-sufficient and prudent. I must say that this is due to a great variety of factors about which you can write a separate article. Finding out who is better makes no sense. We are different, but sometimes we compare ourselves to each other.
