He took money to help a German neighbor who was stuck on the road due to ice

The difference in mentalities is a very interesting topic that can be considered from any angle. This is a seemingly trivial situation. A stranger helped you carry a heavy bag to the stop. You'll thank him, and you'll break up. However, not all countries do this. Thinking, How to thank a manA foreigner can immediately think about money.

Such actions are quite indicative and, as a rule, characterize the behavior of an entire people in principle. For example, we recently received a letter from a man who lives in Germany. An interesting story happened to him, which showed him how the Germans thought. Let's find out what happened!

This year, winter in Germany is more severe than ever. It was raining all day yesterday. By the evening, it was replaced by fine snow, and then the thermometer arrow fell sharply below zero. Woke up in the morning, looked out the window, and there is an ice fairy tale! Looking from home is more enjoyable than going outside.

My house is located by a small slide, which is also covered with ice. At 7:30 a.m., I made my morning coffee and sat down by the window. I hear the roar of the car: it seems that someone is trying to drive up, but it does not work. I was surprised that the utilities had not solved the ice problem. They usually start working from 6:30, and before 8 hours everything is ready. Maybe we just haven't had time yet, I don't know.

© Freepik In general, 5 minutes passed, and the car did not stop. Just drives a couple of meters up and then rolls. Without thinking twice, I decided to wake my brother (he was staying with my wife) and help the driver. He was an elderly man 65-70 years old. He was very grateful and gladly accepted our offer.

As a result, the car drove from the strength of 20 meters: it was very difficult with this road. There's still a long way to go. The man said it was the only way to his house. I thought I'd be able to pull his car out with a cable, hooked to my car. The German was embarrassed, but he agreed. That's what we did.

My brother went to get the car and I stayed with the man. I looked at his car and realized it was on summer tires. “Why didn’t you change the tyres? Spring is not coming soon, I asked in German. The man was very surprised and began to deny that rubber summer. Then he looked at the car and gasped. “I forgot, this is my wife’s car! She's not driving now, she's afraid. It’s not like that! the German replied.

Anyway, my brother drove up to us in a car, we picked up the car of our new friend. And then helped him get home. Sweet old man was in seventh heaven, honestly! He showed us his house, told us his name and how to contact him. “I will never forget how you helped me. The German shook my hand and stuck 50 euros in it.

I was, to be honest, taken aback. And kind of nice, but also awkward at the same time. I wanted the money back, but the German was gone. The wife argued for a long time, saying that they do not take money for good deeds. What am I gonna do? In general, here are the Germans: one word to thank a person is not enough.

Kindness and generosity Kindness and generosity Consonant with each other human qualities. A good hero of the story helped a neighbor who was in trouble. A generous German decided to thank the man, giving him money. Someone will say that this is wrong and not “our way”.

But why put yourself in a moral box? Nothing bad actually happened. Just People express their gratitude in different ways. Don’t blame anyone for taking money for their good deeds. He was the one who made it his heart.

And you know what kind of European people pay off? You may have experienced this. It would be great if you could tell us your story. Leave your comments!
