Dukka: how to cook a delicious Egyptian seasoning

Dukka is a traditional seasoning that represents the Egyptian national cuisine. The main components of spices are seeds or nuts: peanuts, hazelnuts, sesame. From spices to Gucci used red and black peppers, coriander, cumin, thyme or oregano. Dukka serves as a complement to soups, beans or lentils to meat and vegetable dishes and as a separate condiment. Traditional dukka

The seasoning is prepared the day before serving.

Components:

  • nuts -1tbsp
  • sesame -0,5 St
  • coriander — 0,5 St
  • cumin seeds — 0,5 St
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • freshly ground black pepper.
1. Nuts, coriander, cumin and sesame seeds to bake separately in the oven at a temperature of about 180 degrees or in a dry frying pan.

2. After the components are cooled, grind in a mortar or blender. The degree of grinding is chosen according to taste, some people like powdered seasoning, some prefer a coarse grind. To the grinded mixture add salt and pepper. All thoroughly mixed and stored in a cool place in a tightly sealed container.

3. Traditionally served with bread, boiled eggs, melted cheese and olive oil. published
