QUIZ: Who controls your health

The following is a questionnaire created on the basis of the Multidimensional scale of locus of health control (Multidimensional Health Locus-of-Control Scales).

The questionnaire consists of three scales.

1. The scale of internal locus of control (I): reflects the degree of your sense of control over their health.

2. The scale of control "mighty other" (P): this scale shows the degree of your conviction that your health is responsible, "powerful others" (e.g., doctors).

3. Scale control case ©: this scale shows how much you believe that health depends on luck or fate.

Scores on scales of locus of control

Count the number of points earned in each scale.

1. 23-30 points suggests that you adhere to this point of view. For example, if you have a high score on the scale will case you believe that your health depends on the case.

2.15-22 score means that you are moderately adhere to particular beliefs. For example, a moderate score on a scale of control powerful others means that you are partly assured that your health depends on powerful others.

The scale of internal locus of control (/)

1. When I get sick, but my attitude helps me to recover.

2. I control my condition.

3. If I get sick, then blame(a) I(a).

4. More than anything my health affected by my actions.

5. If I take care of myself, can avoid illness.

6. If I'm not going to harm your body, you will remain healthy.

 

 

The scale of control "mighty other" (P)

1. Regularly visiting your doctor, I can avoid the development of a disease.

2. At the first sign of sickness I consulted with a specialist.

3. About my health have to worry my family.

4. The doctors care about my health.

5. If I get well, it is thanks to the care of other people (doctors, nurses, family members and friends).

6. As for my health, I only do what the doctor says.

 

 

Scale contingency ©

1. No matter what happens, but if I'm going to get sick, I get sick.

2. Disease fall on me like snow on the head.

3. How quickly I get better, usually depends on the case.

4. Maintaining good health largely depends on the case.

5. No matter what I do to prevent disease, I can still get sick.

6. If I don't get sick, I don't get sick.

 

6-14 points indicate that you practically do not adhere to this belief. For example, if you have a low score on the scale of internal locus of control, it means that you do not believe in your strength to prevent diseases and cure.

For example, a high score on internal locus of control and low or moderate on the scale of powerful others and chance says that you are a man, staunch in their ability to control their health.

If you have moderate results for the internal locus of control, you believe that they are sometimes able to control their health, and sometimes not.

If you have a low score in internal locus of control, you may not believe that they can control their own health. If the indicator on the powerful others higher than for the other two scales, you believe that your health depends on other people (e.g. doctors). If the points on the scale of the event exceeds the remaining indicators, then you believe in the dependence of their state of health from chance, fate or luck.

So you've got an idea of what, in your opinion depends on your health. We can't control fully the course of our lives, but the lack of control we also not suffer. Having learned to control some elements of the environment, we can change our response to stress.published
