Zgurovsky arboretum

It was founded in 60-ies of the XIX century by count P. A. Kochubey. Unlike many of our Ukrainian parks individual plants (Weymouth pine, canadian spruce...) planted here are not isolated instances, and large tracts in pure and mixed form. Large clearings too unusual for our parks sizes — from 10 to 30 hectares.

On the eve of the second world war in 1940 in these areas, the forest started to lay pine culture, which of course messed up a separate scenic landscapes. In 1937 there were 150 species of trees and bushes. The Park was laid of a natural, or landscape style. Surrounded on all sides by windbreaks.

The Park has a so-called Givrine sea — flow of Soup. This pond was cleared, dredged and transformed into a lovely pond that exists today. Near the first pond was arranged a second, lower. It created an artificial island.

To open a perspective view of the opposite shore of the pond from the former Palace of Kochubey was made of a wide valley with a slope to the pond, and on the opposite shore, at a distance of 700-750 metres, sprinkled hill "Ararat". It built a pavilion scenic architecture, planted a group of conifers.
