Green innovation: the rooftop garden of the University in Bangkok
After the devastating flooding in Bangkok in 2011, destroyed fields and farms and left without food many people in this country, the local University decided to protect themselves and to create on the rooftop of one of the University faculties "green" farm. What is not eco-friendly innovations!
Vegetables, greens and fruits that are grown on that farm sufficient to maintain the daily needs in the diet of inhabitants of the campus, and, according to the authors innovations, this farm is a great way to provide sustenance to natural disasters.
Innovative green farm is a joint project of the Thai health promotion Foundation and the faculty of architecture of Kasetsart University. On an area of about 200 square meters are cultivated a variety of useful and edible herbs and vegetables. When creating the farm was applied three innovations: "green" horizontal and vertical block and biobased, which in early 2012 was awarded the prize of the National research Council of Thailand.
