Solar Loop – a self-sustaining energy pavilion in new York Park
Loop Solar ("solar cycle") – a project of experts from the architectural Studio of Paolo Venturella & MenoMenoPiu Architects, designed La amusement Park Freshkills park (new York, USA). The object is both large-scale solar and multi-purpose pavilion, functional performance which it provides.
The aim of the project is to capture maximum amount of solar energy during all daylight hours. Form structure should be directly behind the sun, catching its rays from all angles and Recalling thus a huge sunflower.
This architectural form was formed for dialogue solar energy and the space pavilion which is the Solar Loop. There will be concerts, sporting events, lectures, etc.
"Solar Loop" is composed of two different surfaces that are integrated into each other. The first photovoltaic surface is always in the sun, and the second mirror surface reflects everything around, multiplies the entertainment landscape and the light of day, distributing it under the covered part of the pavilion.
