"Underwater kite" is to collect energy from ocean currents

Company for the development and production of marine energy technologies, Minesto, has recently demonstrated a working version of its new marine power plant which can produce energy from the movement of ocean currents. Device, which received the name "Deеp Grеen" ("Deep Green") and resembles an underwater kite, made of a hydrodynamic wing and a turbine which is anchored at the bottom of the ocean. The principle of operation of the device is quite simple – the undercurrents raise the wing and rotates the turbine to generate electricity.

The company came up with a wing that can handle high loads – it is made to operate for 20 years. Dеep Green is really a multifunctional structure, which not only helps create a lifting force, but also contains batteries, pressure sensors and systems that provide buoyancy. The rope attached to Deep Green, consists of power cables, which transmit generated energy to the ground.

We remind you that in Australia I want to desalinate water due to the energy of the waves.
