Deep Green: underwater robot butterfly

The farm will be built on the basis of power plants with a capacity of 10 megawatts, and generators, something reminiscent of butterflies "flying" in the water.





The power generator of the new type will be deployed at 6.5 kilometers from the island of Anglesey in the open sea. The first sample for tests will be underwater platform placed at a depth of about 100 meters, the mooring buoy to keep the cable platform and, in fact, the robot butterfly. The robot will swim around the platform to ensure that the generator has always been inside a constant undercurrent at a speed of 1.5 to 2 meters per second. Such conditions, according to the calculations, will maximize the efficiency of energy production.





In addition, an independent company Xodus Group has evaluated the possible impact of Deep Green plants on the environment and marine life. Analyzed the effect of the installation on the fishing, traumatic for the fish and other inhabitants of the sea, marine navigation and influence on the course.
