A research group at the University of Cologne have discovered a new method of producing hydrogen using water and formaldehyde.
A new approach is interesting because it can be used for the treatment of contaminated formaldehyde wastewater, receiving hydrogen from industrial effluents.
Dr. Prechtl and his colleagues-chemists also have developed a stable and robust catalyst that can be used in new technologies. The researchers have already filed the patent application.
