Edible flowers— jam from dandelions



If you are tired of fruit jam, why not try flowers? It can be original and interesting gift, if you pour it into pretty jars and cover with lids. Golden jam with honey taste better to cook dandelions from a suburban yard, or those that were not exposed to chemicals and herbicides. This recipe for the canned version, but you can make jam from dandelions and store it in the fridge for a few weeks.

Ingredients

Dandelion 4 bowls.
Lemon juice 2 tbsp
Granulated sugar 4 cups.
Vanilla extract 0,5 tsp
Pectin 6 tbsp



Step-by-step recipe Jam from dandelions

1. Collect the yellow petals of dandelions.
2. Sterilize jars and lids in boiling water/microwave/oven.
3. Bring to a boil 8 cups of water with the petals of dandelion and boil for 10 minutes.
4. Strain the petals through a colander, press the dandelions with a spoon to squeeze out as much water as possible and the color became more intense.
5. Pour 3 cups of the strained tea of dandelions in a pan, add 2 tbsp lemon juice 0.5 tsp vanilla extract, and 6 tbsp of pectin. Bring to a boil, add 4 cups of sugar and stir until dissolved. Allow to simmer for a minute. Repeat the same with the other two portions of the decoction of dandelions with the same amount of other ingredients or leave it to freeze and tea. 3 cups of broth is obtained about 1.9 liters of jam.
6. Pour the jam into jars, leaving 2.5 cm of air under the lid, canning jars and boil them in a deep saucepan for 10 minutes.
