Land Airbus – a conceptually new type of eco-transport
Due to the slow speed, clumsiness and large size of the usual buses often cause congestion on the roads, especially when it comes to rush hour. Designers and designers from China, who know firsthand about the overcrowding of large cities, proposed an original idea for solving transport problems – a new type of public transport that combines the features of a bus, a tram and “overpasses on wheels”.
Three years ago, the world first heard about the concept of “3D Fast Bus”, and today the exciting green perspective is becoming a reality: TBS China Corporation introduced its “Land Airbus” – an innovative urban transport that will soon truly appear on the streets of China and will practically not hamper the movement of cars.
Thanks to the vault height of 4.5 meters and a width of 6 meters, the design of the creative novelty makes it possible to travel cars directly below it. Managing such a bus is difficult, because the slightest deviation to the right or left would threaten to collision with cars under its body, so it was put on the rails located on the sides of the carriageway.
Land Airbus operates on electric drive. The bus is powered by solar panels and contact rails located on lampposts. The problem of the need to create contact rails solid was solved by the use of powerful batteries inside the bus. Therefore, from the pole to the pole, a bizarre transport reaches the battery life, a stronger charge of which will be carried out at stations when boarding and disembarking passengers.
For the safety of the bus in the flow of cars, Land Airbus is equipped with ultrasonic sensors that must transmit an alarm to the receiver in cars in the event of a dangerous approach. And for freight transport (if its height exceeds the height of the lower arch of the bus), the requirement to change the lane will be transferred.
About the intention of the bus to turn at the intersection machines under the arch will signal the headlights inside the vault and send signals to the receivers. In addition, the road infrastructure is planned to be supplemented by “smart” traffic lights, which, when approaching an unusual bus to the intersection, will turn on a red light for all traffic flows.
Innovative urban transport is equipped with a high-tech interior. You can get inside using a glass elevator, and if urgent evacuation is necessary, passengers can get out through special hatches on the roof and through the reclining side walls.
The bus will cope with a large passenger traffic: it is longer than its conceptual version and consists of four cars with a capacity of up to 300 people. In addition, during the boarding and disembarkation of passengers will not create a tense situation on the road – cars just continue to move under the body of Land Airbus. Such innovations will significantly reduce the intensity of traffic in large cities, and will allow you to forget about the hours spent in congestion.
Chinese designers have calculated that the modernization of roads with the construction of tracks and stations for a new type of city buses will cost much cheaper and will be performed much faster than the construction of an underground subway or high-speed tram lines. It takes one year and 500,000,000 yuan to build a bus and lay 40 kilometers of roads, which is only 10% of the cost of building the same 40 kilometers of metro in three years. So this year, construction of 186 kilometers of roads for Land Airbus in one of the districts of Beijing is expected to begin.
